Otras flores: Álbum fotográfico de infancias queer (DOS BIGOTES)
Editorial Dos Bigotes SL
A book full of courage and sincerity that brings together photographs and testimonies from seventy-five queer childhoods into adulthood. Foreword by Valeria Vegas.
They say there are more than two hundred different varieties of cherry trees and that their flowers are not always pink. The Prunus takesimensis variety, for example, known for its white flowers, is actually more common than people think.
Other flowers can change color throughout the blooming period, like the Prunus Ukon variety, which goes from yellow-green to white before finally turning pink. Each tree blooms only for one week each year.
No one would dare tell a flower when it has to bloom, how it should behave, or what color it should be; it simply exists, and its beauty and variety make this world a more beautiful, diverse, and exciting place.
Otras flores is a photographic album of LGTBIQ+ childhoods compiled by Xavi Reyes, in which its protagonists, now adults, share reflections, anecdotes, stories of first loves, cherished memories, and painful recollections of those who had to grow up by force.
It is a finger in the wound and an open-hearted embrace.
