The story of an impossible love. Of a forbidden love. Of an unconfessable love. Of the love that Manuela, a sensitive girl, still very young, feels for another woman.

Published in 1933, Christa Winsloe wrote this autobiographical text as a play that was successfully adapted into a film – and was remade in 1958 starring Romy Schneider. Recognized as the first lesbian-themed film in history, Muchachas de uniforme was banned during Nazism for being considered a fierce critique of the state of control and authoritarianism.
