María Ángeles Querol is an emeritus professor of Prehistory at the Complutense University of Madrid. With a long academic career, she has held positions such as Deputy Director General of Archaeology at the Ministry of Culture and President of the Andalusian Archaeology Commission. Among the many honors marking her career, notable are the European Archaeological Heritage Prize awarded by the European Association of Archaeologists in 2015, and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2019, granted by the General State Administration. Since 1994, she has been teaching the subject of Cultural Heritage Management in the undergraduate and graduate History programs, as well as in various master's degrees.
