An autobiographical journey toward finding intersex role models to start a revolution. The stories of its protagonists show us the construction of a collective identity in the search for a present/future of freedom and rights.
Castellón, 2016. Lola is born. The lead actress. She takes the stage. And little by little, she breaks her silence. She travels in search of role models. The first hermaphrodite on horseback is there, waiting in Barcelona. On the shores of the Mediterranean appears another: la Melero. A sudden call takes her to Galicia, alongside the COI hurdler. Anxious, she emigrates. Settled in Valencia, she unexpectedly meets a girl from Cabanyal. She lives her catharses. In Logroño, she dances alongside another butch. She loses her way. She discovers an intersexual compass located in a spot in Mexico. Next destination: Basque Country. At the desk next to hers sits the Kollontai of the 21st century. From Madrid, the voice of a proper and classy lady bursts forth strongly. Meanwhile, an extrabinary phoenix crosses the gray sky of Bizkaia. And then, she puts a face to the hologram of the documentary No box for me. What’s missing? Discovering a character from the southern district of Seville. Returning home. Talking with the two who were missing. Stopping. In Salamanca, she writes and performs. Lola empowers herself and Mer disarms her gender. Finally, she has found an intersex family. It’s time to defend themselves, to crow loudly. Will you join the rebellion of the hyenas?
