Deseo y desvío: Poética y fantasía homoerótica de Platón al Chemsex
Egales
What do gay men want when we open a hookup app and talk about "destroying ourselves," "using ourselves," or "filling ourselves"? Where does this language of transgression come from?
Far from simplistic answers or easy psychological explanations, this work explores how these expressions and practices have been interpreted as cultural symptoms of a lack, as socially constructed fetishes, or as effects of tensions between desire, norm, and power.
From Plato's Symposium to current chill scenes, passing through the myth of Saint Sebastian or dark rooms, bareback sex practices during the AIDS crisis, same-sex marriage, cruising, and digital networks, this work examines the historical, psychosocial, and technological changes that have accompanied the creation and development of homoerotic desires and fantasies. Through various sexual practices, we will see how their limitations and deviations from social norms have been marked, but also their creative power to challenge any fantasy of identity.
