Confesiones de una máscara (El libro de bolsillo - Bibliotecas de autor - Biblioteca Mishima)
Alianza
Koo-chan, the young narrator of "Confesiones de una máscara" (a novel published in 1949 that was Yukio Mishima's (1925-1970) first major literary success and catapulted him to fame), is a soul tormented by a disturbing sensitivity that grows with the stigma of knowing he is different from others. Weak and sickly in appearance, solitary and taciturn, from a less privileged background than his peers, he begins to discover his homosexual inclinations when he feels attracted to Omi, a boy of strong build. However, in 1930s and 1940s Japan, the protagonist must hide behind a mask of propriety and turn his life into a stage, a performance where reality and appearances converge.
